Missions Ministry Description

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  Matthew 28:18-20

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth”  Acts 1:8

Jesus committed the great commission and the great commandment to the church.  Therefore, in the spirit of the great commandment we seek to fulfill the great commission.  It is our desire to proclaim the cross of Jesus Christ, living out His Word by demonstrating His heart so that the lost may be saved and the saved might be discipled.

Our missions department works tirelessly to equip the saints to share their faith, and to deploy them into the local mission field in which they live and work.  We also send resources nationally and internationally to enable missionaries to be able to minister the gospel to the lost and to teach the saved.

We seek to reach local families and out of state families by serving them for the glory of God.  This is done through short term mission trips and service projects, that take care of the physical needs of people, in order to present them with the gospel.  Volunteers are always needed to help in disaster relief and various other mission trips.

The international mission outreach of the church is undertaken through various means.  We currently have full time missionaries in S Asia, Uganda, Ukraine, and South Africa that are supported financially by LLBC.  Members of LLBC are also given opportunities to participate in international mission trips.

Lake Lure Baptist supports the Southern Baptist Convention, the Baptist State Convention of NC, the international Missions Board, the North American Mission Board and the Green River Baptist Association, and various other local mission organizations.
