“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”  And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the great and first commandment.  And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  Matthew 22:36-39

We believe that God has laid out a plan for us to enjoy life as we learn to follow His will for each of us.   Since life isn’t always easy and we face challenges each day, our goal is to explore together how this mystery of “walking in joy,” in a sometimes brutal culture, can be accomplished.

We believe that it starts with the basics as Jesus identified them:  Love God and Love Others.

Our goal is to learn to love God as we learn to submit to His will by following His direction and seeking His purpose for our lives.  And to love others by building relationships as we invest in the lives of our families, our church, and our community.

LLBC Men’s ministry offers various opportunities for men of all ages and walks of life to get involved in the ministry as we seek to do life together. We are looking for volunteers to bring Biblical insight/instruction to our men’s study group by sharing from God’s word as it relates to personal life experiences.  Assist in planning events that allow the men of our church to mentor the youth of our community and shape the church of tomorrow.  Assist in planning events that help build and strengthen relationships between the men of our church while serving the needs of our community.

We currently meet once a month for men’s breakfast in the church fellowship hall, where we study God’s word, enjoy the richness of fellowship together in Christ, and learn from each other as we ourselves learn to become transparent in sharing our life experiences with each other.  We have a yearly father and son overnight camping excursion that is open to more than just father and son. The original idea was to help bolster and build relationships between fathers and their sons by spending time together away from the daily routine and home setting. However, this has grown and has been extended to more of a “men” mentoring “youth” overnight camping event that provides an opportunity to build godly, wholesome, relationships as we model the way for the young men in our community.

Come join the men of Lake Lure Baptist Church as we explore the “freedom of life” that is found in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.
